Houses of Light came to this neighborhood believing God had placed the church here with purpose.

At the time, the area looked very different. Brokenness surrounded the community, and the neighborhood wasn’t the kind of place many people would have chosen to plant a church.

But Houses of Light believed God had brought them here intentionally.

The church prayed for God to establish His Kingdom in the neighborhood and make this house a place where people could encounter His presence, experience transformation, and find family. Year after year, those prayers were answered.

We prayed. We worshiped. We watched God move.

One by one, businesses connected to brokenness in the surrounding area closed.

Families were restored. Lives were transformed.

The atmosphere of the neighborhood began to change.

What once seemed unlikely became evidence of God’s faithfulness over time.

As the ministries of Houses of Light continued to grow, so did the need for more space.

The church explored other properties, but continued bringing one specific place before the Lord: the building next door.

The church didn’t pursue the owner.

The owner came looking for Houses of Light.

An opportunity the church had prayed about for years suddenly became possible.

You could make this one of the biggest moments visually:

WE DIDN’T CREATE THE OPPORTUNITY.

GOD OPENED THE DOOR.

That is much stronger than putting this moment inside a paragraph.

Today, Houses of Light is standing before another opportunity to trust God together.
